Penn Hill is a public amenity and as with other main transmitters built on such locations (e.g Crystal Palace and Sandy Heath), the Mendip site is a secure and mostly obscured compound.  Views of this site are therefore limited.

Above: A view of the rear area, revealing the unusual concrete building at the mast base.  The rear is elevated higher than the front, hence the sunken appearance of the transmitter buildings.

Above: Satellite receiver dishes at the rear.

Above Left: The concrete mast base features the same local stonework used to construct the main transmission buildings.

Above Right: One of the six ground anchor blocks, supporting two of the twelve stay-lines.
