HISTORIC STATION PLATES |
|
The following photographs have been very kindly submitted by Keith Cunliffe. Keith is a retired aerial installer who visited numerous UK transmitting stations, mainly during the 1960s, when most of these stations were still in their infancy. With the majority of them staffed, Keith wasn't shy about knocking on the door and was generally well received by engineers who were happy to have a visitor interested in their work. Keith's interest was steered more towards Independent Television and its regional structure, plus the ITA were typically more welcoming to visitors, so this is reflected in the station signage featured here. All these images will gradually be inserted into the relevant transmitter pages but for now are presented here in collection form. |
